Journaling Setup Switch Up
There’s been a change — switcheroo — in my journaling setup…again! So I jump between journal tools; it’s one of my quirks. I once relied on general note-taking apps and then moved to dedicated journaling apps. But now I’ve returned to a notes app. Of course, it’s the Apple Notes app.

Keep Going With DuckDuckGo
I noticed news this week saying DuckDuckGo, known for its privacy, was found in an audit to allow some level of Microsoft tracking. On the surface, that sounds antithetical to or hypocritical of the search company. But I’m not sure to what extent either is the case. Otherwise, I think DuckDuckGo is still one of the best search engines worth recommending.

WordPress Starter Plan A Good Start
Following April’s announcements of the new Free and Pro plans, WordPress has announced the Starter plan. And as projected in a forum message, WordPress slotted the plan at a price point between the others at $5/mo, which is one-third the cost of the Pro tier at $15/mo. Albeit plans still require an annual rather than monthly payment. That said, the Starter price is much more within the realm of the former Personal and Premium plans ($4 and $8 respectively). But are the features comparable to those former plans? And how does the Starter plan stack against the Pro level?

Top WWDC22 Wishes To Note
Coming soon is Apple’s WWDC22, showcasing its latest software magic. New
impressive features arriving across Apple’s devices over the coming months will
be highlighted. If lucky, a dazzling new device may be revealed too. But even if
amazing hardware — AR/VR mixed reality headset — is announced, forget that. I
want “one more thing” to be…Word Count. In Apple Notes. Well, okay, I’d like a
bit more than that.

Social Media Or Social Networking
Have you seen the terms social media and social networking used interchangeably? I have; I’ve done it. But I was wondering if they’re the same or just similar. Is there a distinction without a difference? After looking it up and reading a few sites, the answer is…unclear to me.

Unpacking My Bags At WordPress
Over the past few weeks, I shared a handful of posts expressing unease towards
WordPress. My bags were packed; I was ready to move away. It started with the
surprising and sudden plan upheaval in early April, which soured me. Stuck in a
rut, feeling unsettled, I sought firm blogging ground. Many other bloggers
reasonably felt likewise. But for my part, I think I let negativity taint my
view a bit much, seeing WordPress only through the opposite of rose-colored
glasses. My view was all thorns and no rose. That’s now changed.

Pressing WordPress Woes
There’s a disturbance in the force of WordPress; I’ve sensed it.
And now my inner disquiet has been further stirred. An article caught my attention, citing a report that indicates declining WordPress market share for the first time ever, which is apparently caused by performance issues, increased complexity, and a lengthy yet unfinished release of the Full Site Editor.

Imagining Apple GamePod
This week I happened upon a YouTube video covering rumors or leaks about a potential new device from Apple that’s focused on playing games. The company may be developing its own hybrid handheld game console similar to the Nintendo Switch. What!?

iPod Had A Long Run
The iPod. After more than 20 years, its end is here. The popular line of Apple music players was discontinued this week and will only be sold while supplies last. The last version left is the dated iPod touch, which happens to be my favorite iPod of all.
